ABLE GED Test Scholarships

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Wayne County Resident
  • 19 years or older
  • Officially enrolled in ABLE (12 hours or more).
  • Achieve Official Practice Test:
    • 450 minimum per part with 500 average
    • Total 2500 of 4000 (62.5%).
  • Have financial need.
  • One full scholarship awarded per qualifying student.
  • Partial scholarships are available.

Scholarship recipients are encouraged to “pay it forward” in cash or service so others can receive scholarships in the future. They can repay in service by volunteering for a Pay It Forward Project or in cash by donating to the HOPE Fund at a future time.

Adult Education Emergency Gas Vouchers

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Officially enrolled in career training through Adult Education at the Career Center.
  • In good standing with AE’s stated policies for attendance and academic progress.
  • Emergency need for gas to attend career training.
  • Agree to repay in cash or service.
  • Balances of $60+ must be repaid before a new voucher is issued.

Emergency Gas Voucher recipients are asked to “pay it forward” in cash or service so others can receive gas vouchers in the future. They can repay in service by volunteering for a Pay It Forward Project or in cash by donating to the HOPE Fund within a given time.

Wayne College Emergency Book Loans

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Wayne County resident.
  • Officially enrolled at Wayne College for at least 6 credit hours.
  • In good standing with Wayne’s stated policies for attendance and academic progress.
  • Emergency need to purchase required books and class materials for enrolled courses.
  • Agree to repay in cash within 3 months of receipt.

Emergency Book Loans are good faith, interest-free loans provided by a grant from the HOPE Fund to help Wayne College students successfully continue their education. Upon approval, applicants receive a voucher to use at the Wayne College Bookstore. By repaying promptly, the fund will remain financially self-sustaining so other students can receive Emergency Book Loans.
