What is Pay it Forward?
The HOPE Fund helps adults working with Common Good members to get jobs or better jobs by providing scholarships, grants and loans. In exchange, the adults “pay it forward” in service or money so others can get the help they need in the future. Pay It Forward helps ensure the HOPE Fund will be there to meet employment needs in our community forever!
Pay It Forward Projects
Westminster Presbyterian’s Famous Soup Sale is a successful Pay it Forward Project. ABLE GED students help Westminster’s Mission Committee make soup for their annual winter soup sale. This gives students an important opportunity to connect with community members and to raise money for HOPE Fund initiatives. Proceeds from the soup sale provide funding for local initiatives like GED Test Scholarships, Emergency Gas Vouchers and Emergency Book Loans.
The HOPE Fund Steering Committee welcomes opportunities to work with local community groups on Pay It Forward Projects like Westminster’s Famous Soup Sale. Projects like this foster important community connections and help the HOPE Fund develop a self-supporting, skilled workforce in our community.
